I hate to keep asking questions, but switching from my wide glide to the Road king is bringing up all this stuff I have not encountered before.
Yesterday I took the wife out on the RK for the first time. She said the bike rode "harder" than the WG. I am thinking maybe I need more air for 2up riding.
She is about 130#. The bike rides fine with just me on it at 15psi in the rear shocks.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I ride at about 10 psi solo and 20 - 22 psi for 2 up. Been trying to find a pressure setting that allows me to not have to change all the time....tried 16 psi yesterday for solo and 2 up. Wife complained the ride did not feel as good as usual. Looks like I am back to adjusting back and forth.
Has anyone seen or heard of a way to re-route the air valve so it is not such a pain in the a** removing the saddlebags each time? Would love to find a way to adjust the air pressure without removing the saddlebags each time.
Too much air & the shocks will ride stiff. Too little air and the shocks will bottom out on bumps, leading to a very rough/stiff ride.
Try adding more air for two-up riding. Make small 2 psi adjustments till you find the sweet spot for your traveling weight.
Start out at 10psi and keep adding 2 psi at a time untill your wife agrees the ride is smoother. If that doesn't please her,you may have to replace the seat.[]
