That would mean what to me, LOL. For some reason you got your panties in a wad when reading the truth. Decided to single out the messenger didja? Be well

No one ever said that the Ohlins aren't better. This thread was never about which is better. It was about the HD shocks being a decent alternative for people that either don't have the money, or don't want to mess with the setup. If you feel singled out, sorry about that. And yes, I expected your type of post much sooner.

Wow the title is Ohlins VS Harley Premium. I guess VS means something different to you than it does to me. Oh and you quoted me so I figure you singled me out. Like I stated If you are happy with what you have that is great.

Just called HD. They want 549 plus tax for the 13 inch variety. Hell I already have a new set of $1500 shocks sitting in a box in the garage that I won't use . Guess I will have to wait for a used set to come up for sale or a 20% sale day
I believe I gave $439.00 for my Premiums from Surdyke.
I will answer this even though it is not directed at me. I personally have owned stock , Progressive 940 , Ricor , Ohlins #3-#3 , JRi B's and Ohlin #6's , my buddys 2015 Road Glide Special has 12" HD Premium shocks on it and I have ridden his bike and adjusted on them for him. The HD Premium are close to Progressive 940 or the newer 944 . Any coil over springs shock will give you a better ride than air suspension. The Progressive 944's and HD Premium are a big improvement over air but ARE NOT as good as the basic Ohlins #2 shock that sells for under $600. I 100% believe the few that posted on here did not experience that , but like I stated earlier they either had the wrong spring or were not adjusted properly. Ohlins sells tens of thousands of shocks and I've only ever seen maybe 5 people who had bad experiences with them. Why I say the Ohlins are superior is not based on just my personal experience but I've seen the Ohlins and HD Premiums put on a shock dyno , and the difference is huge. We as riders buy shocks for a smoother ride , but the primary function of a shock is to help the bike maintain traction so you stay in control and on two wheels , a smooth ride is a result of this and a side benefit . What does a shock dyno show ?? It shows mainly how fast a shock responds to change which will help you maintain traction and have a smooth ride. Look at my drawing (I apologize for the quality , I am not an artist). Picture 1 shows a bike going down a road , the frame is parallel to the road. Picture 2 , you hit a pot hole and 3 a bump. A fast acting suspension will let the swing arm and tire go down in or over these changes while keeping the bike parallel to the ground . You maintain traction and have a smooth ride. Pictures 4 and 5 show a slower acting suspension and the bike rises and lowers with the changes , the bike isn't parallel , you could lose traction and the ride is not as smooth. I've seen dyno sheets on both shocks and the HD Premium are much slower reacting shocks than the basic Ohlins shocks . Dyno sheets don't lie , they do not show the quality or anything like that , just how well the shocks work. Again I'm sorry some of you guys have had bad experiences with Ohlins and if I lived close to you I'd help you get them adjusted properly. Are the HD Premium shocks a lot better than air shocks and a nice improvement , YES . Are they as good as Ohlins , NO.

Thanks for the post that actually has some substance to it. And it helped me understand the whole shock thing a lot better.
