After my 09 FLHRC developed paint bubbles after only 2 yrs I started a letter writing initiative with HD Canada. At first they would only say that it was 'environmental issues' that caused it and wouldn't consider any kind of warranty. This year I gave up hope of HD stepping up and ordered two brand new painted fenders. I did not stop the letter campaign though. This week they contacted me and said that after further review they would reimburse me for my expenses.
Can't tell you what a nice surprise this was. thank you HD Canada. Bike looks as new now and that's with 90000k. It just turned over today, and wouldn't you know it, it went to 'limp' mode on me. Throttle position sensor. I had to laugh at that.
Good for you for sticking with it. Usually the words "Good", " HD" and "Canada" are never in the same sentence together.......unless it's "The service I got from HD Canada is no f**king good"!
Enjoy.
They're really no different from a car dealer when it comes to repairs
You always have to fight or argue to get what you think is right. HD has, on the whole, been pretty good to me with respect to warranty repairs. my tranny has had issues and I had to argue my position then too. The obvious stuff has always gone smoothly though. My bike just had a throttle position sensor fault and they're going to replace that when I put new bars on next week. I won't hesitate to buy another Harley when the time comes.
