BAS brake light - Parade mode

BAL brake light - Parade mode
So for those of you running an older BAL II brake light, I have mine on the brightest setting for "highway" use, but was wondering if you guys run them on parade mode for daily use, or will it cause damage to the unit? I feel like I may not be getting the complete intended effect of the light and the "parade only" mode is just for DOT regulations and won't hurt the unit if used for regular highway and city use.

after running through a bunch of setting options...I settled for bright and a couple of flashes then steady on.
I thought that constant flashing wouldn;t give drivers the best indication of my intentions....and target fixation comes to mind.
i figure a couple of flashes might catch the eye enough for them to put down the phone.
This is one of the better bike gee-gaws to drop some cash on.
