When i go to a bike rally i expect to here bikes. I also expect responsible and mature behavior. But NOOOOOOOO
Go to a lot of rallies and there starting to crack down on people who just cant get it figured out. Sure you paid good money for those pipes and i'll bet your Harley is the fastest and baddest harley in the world but you could be a little more mature about it YA THINK ! Went to three rallies that already have noice rules after 12 midnight. You drive a Harley in and park it. You crank it and leave. YOU DO NOT RIV IT UP TILL THE PIPES GLOW AND PULL OUT LIKE YOUR INSAINE. Then there are those REAL SMART BIKERS that feel the need to riv there bikes up and hold it to the rev limitor for hourssssssssss just to show how cool it is. When will some guys learn a Harleu IS NOT a pen*s extecion and i havent seen one person score by blowing a bike up so LAY OFF MORON !

I do like to travel at 85 to 90 on the highway at times. I also worry about being packed up so high . It cant be good on my shocks and the balance sucks. As for what to do with the trailer while on the road ? It will go in my room or chained to a fience pole somewhere.

I still have issue with a trailer costing $5,000 . I can buy a used pull behind live in trailer for my truck for that price.
Drop that price to around $3,000 and we will talk. I would be willing to bet those boshtec's dont cost $800 to build. so where does the $5,000 come from ? At any rate , if i could get one for a good price i would try it. Just hope my biker friends will still wave at me and not mistaken me for a GOLDWING ! LMAO

Sorry - but you're talkin' outta ignorance here. I can promise you that there's more tied up in that price than that, but I tell you what - go build one that is equivalent to it for $800 and I will buy it. How's that - your first sale already!! When can I expect it??? Oh...you DID notice the air suspension, right? The large diameter tires? The run-flat rating on them? The swivel hitch?

Having said that - you CAN find used Bushtecs in that price range if you're patient. Again - as with anything else, each of us has our "touch points". I ride one of the most expensive touring motorcycles made. Do I "need" it? Of course not. Do I need to justify it? Only to myself and my spouse. Anything I choose to do with it beyond there is based on what I want to do - just as you choose what you want to do. Frankly, I don't care if someone wants to build one in their back yard out of used bed frames - just don't try to tell me how it'll perform to the same standards as the Bushtec, CSC, etc. - because they won't. They may WORK for the owner - but the performance simply won't be there because of the design. It's just like say a Ural - it may WORK for a rider, but there's no way you'll convince me that the build quality is anything approaching a HD.

I thought this was a thread about trailers...Not about noise and inconsiderate people. If you want to discuss that as a separate issue...And I realize that you started this thread...But hey, start a new thread topic. You'll get a whole lot of replies...Trust me.

Now since youwant totalk about irresponsible behavior or morons......I have seen a need go 85 mph on occasion...But never 90. But it was a necessity, not a matter of course. And never for longer than it took to 'get away' from a potentially bad situation. If the traffic is moving that fast, or the traffic is so bunched up that I can't get away from it....I'm going to plan 'B'...Get off the Interstate. I'normally' ride theInterstates at 70-80 mph, depending on traffic and conditions. My bike takes too much attention at speeds above 80 mph. Having hit the pavement doing around 70 mph because the cage driver just 'had to be in my lane', I'd hate to see what it'd be like two up, loaded, and pulling a trailer.Naw...Too old for that. And trust me, it takes a lot longer to recover when your over 50.

Ride Safe.

Yup, the rallys are getting pussified, the part time bikers are crying so loud, and theres so many, the vendors are trying to appease them.

They got to get in everybody elses business and make it what they "think" it should be, instead of "knowing" that folks have traveled, hundreds and thousands of miles to party, at a rally, of free spirits.

But the not so free spirits are whining and the true rallyis dieing a long slow death.

i made a trailer out of a 55 gal barrel put bladed skulls on the side and redneck skull on the back. once pulled into a fast food joint with some buddies. had close to $80,000 worth of motorcycles there and and some guy wanted to take pictures of my $500 trailer i got a kick out of that kind of hurt my friends feelings but we all laughed about it. that trailer of mine sure puts smiles on people's face.i use it to go to rallies so i can get drunk and not have to ride the to a hotel to meat rallies everyone just having fun i've had no problems the best bunch of people to be around.i way i feel about it if you don't like rallies don't go to them. i love my trailer it just makes life more fun

Since this thread has gotten 'jacked', and no one wants to start another...I'll go for the ride too....

Gotta agree, at least,on Daytona (been going since '93)...I haven't been to Sturgis since 1994 (want to go back). These traditionally adult parties have turned into 'family outings' and the local bureaucrats who want your money, but want to stay in their elected positions are more than willing to turn the screws on all the party goers...In Daytona show a little skin they haul you off to jail, fine ya, probably put you on a 'registered sex offenders' list (or wish they could) then go impound some bikes because they make 'too much noise'....

Times are a changing...I'm all for putting someone that's being an a$$hole in jail, especially if he's gonna harm an inocent bystander. But come on....It's loud, It's rowdy, It's supposed to be a party. I've never had any problem anywhere in the Daytona area during Bikeweek or Biketoberfest.

And if noise is an issue at a campground...That's the management or the Ranger's issue. A bit of tolerance, but like the sticker on my wife's helmet says: 'Act like an a$$hole, get treated like an a$$hole'. I've camped in RV parks in northern Michigan where they will warn you once...Then you're gone...With a police escort.

No trailer here - but we don't ride two up. Her Deluxe has saddlebags, my Raod Glide has bags and a tourpak on the way, and we both have T-bags. If we can't fit it somewhere, it doesn't need to go! On our first real road trip, my wife figured out that she didn't need all that makeup and hair stuff, and we shipped a load home. Every 7-10 days we spend an extra night and do laundry. Here in CA (and several other states) the speed limit with a trailer is 55 - and I believe that applies to motorcycles as well as cars.

I wanted a trailer to make extended camping trips more comfortable. Lowering the center of gravity was a large part of the decision. I hated the handling of an over loaded bike on a two week trip. I have pulled other trailers that did have some handling issues, probably due to short tires and poor suspension systems. The purchase of the Bushtec trailer was for my own piece of mind. High quality and superior handling were worth a few extra bucks.

I here ya. Beautiful set up. I know how you feel. I thought the same thing. We like to camp and enjoy the party but I really dont like changing the center of gravity. Sick of trying to find motels also so I thought i would research trailers, felt good about the bushtec UNTIL I saw the price. $5,500.00 I can buy a good used car for that or a huge inclosed tandum trailer. Theres no way to justify that price. I here a lot of bullshit but i cant find $5,500 in that rig.

Called up some friends of mine and one knew of a friend that had one so we took off to look at it. pretty trailer. He opened it up. We got to talking and he admitted he felt like he got it in the rump with the price BIGTIME. I can see $3,000 may be but $5,500. Nope and thats the reason the bushtec company dont sell more trailers and why you dont see more at rallies. H*LL add a few more dollars to it and you can buy a nice toy hauler and drive the d*m bike up in it. Thats what i see most of these days anyway. LOL
