A couple of points. You had yourself convinced it was a spark problem when it turned out to be fuel after all. A small squirt of gasoline down the intake and then crank will tell you if it is fuel or spark. If the engine fires a couple of times, you have spark, no popping at all and it is lack of spark.

Computers are very sensitive to poor connections. You might try re-installing your add on gadget and see if renewing the contacts in the plugs has fixed the problem. Vibration, moisture, or never having the plugs fully seated may have caused this problem and there is nothing wrong within the computers.

Your bike runs without the gadget, why not send it in for a thorough check? You won't be 3 weeks without your bike.

There is something to do with the power commander that will not let it spark. I did try the squirt of gas early on and it didn't do anything. It is really a weird thing. I am thinking it is something in the wire loom of the PC5 that is causing the problem. There are not any visible issues on the mesh covering but I have had it on and off multiple times. Updated the firmware. Went through some diagnostics with Dynojet. The whole nine. Still the same though, with the power commander there is no spark but when I just plug it into the ECU it literally fires right up. It barley has to crank. Dynojet thought it was the battery. It is new from last year but I took it in and had it load tested and there is no issue with it either. I have a PCIII usb coming so I guess I will find out soon. Since it was out of warranty it was going to cost 25 to have it looked at and then whatever it would have costed to repair it. They said it takes them 10 days to even look at it after it gets there, then repair, then to send it back. They gave me the 3 week time frame and I just didn't want to wait.

I got a replacement pcIII usb loaded my map and it fired right up. No issues and I am happy to say next day it is nice I can get back out. Still not sure why the pc5 died over the winter but it definitely the culprit of my no spark issue

plug the old one back in and see if the problem persists. might not be dead. may have simply been a bad connection.

Default PC problem

Kind of annoyed with Dynojet right now.
The PC is more sensitive to the signal from the crank position sensor than the factory ECM. A weak signal will cause the bike to run poorly. If the voltage from the crank position sensor becomes too weak, the bike will not run. When you unhook the PC and and just run the factory ECM, the bike will run causing it to appear that the PC is bad. If you check the voltage from the crank position sensor using a breakout box, you will find the voltage lower than what is listed in the manual. We just had a similar issue with a 2009 Road Glide, running bad and then quit running. Took the PC off and it fired up. Replaced the crank position sensor, reinstalled the PC and the bike runs fine. This isn’t the first one we have had come in with the same type issue. We’ve only had 1 bad PC since 2003 and we’re not so sure the PC was bad.
