Tried to start my scoot today and nothing. I have it narrowed to no spark. I have and 02 ultra. It is fuel injected. I checked all the fuses and they are good. I can hear the fuel pump turn on when I turn it on. I just had the voltage regulator changed about a 1 1/2 yr ago on a trip. I am thinking maybe the coil. Anyone have the process to check the coil or the power to the coil. I know there is nothing at the spark plug. I do have a volt meter but am admittedly not as proficient with its use than I am with other things.
Here, use this thread and see if your bike will throw any codes. This will be a good start to figuring out what's wrong. The plug you want under the right side cover is a 4 wire grey plug. You will need a magnifying glass to see the numbers on the edge of grey plug were the wires enter plug. Jump number 1 and 2 wires, then run diagnostics to retrieve codes.
The crank sensor? I thought that would cause rough running not no spark. I guess I will look at that next. I have a lot to learn when it comes to the electrical system on the bike. Other stuff is no problem. I tried to check the code and didn't get anything the first time but I will give it a shot again. I am going to check the grey plug today and see what happens.
ther are also 2 relays , I believe under the seat behind the battery, one is for the starter but the other one will cause a no start issue like your experiencing, pull them and check the contacts on the plugs ,or swap them and see if you have no starter. many times they stick and just lightly tapping them will get them to work again for a bit ( if the stick once replace them) not an expensive part but swapping the 2 usually will tell if they are bad .

I will check for the relay. I am still troubleshooting when I can after work. I hope to be able to get it running by the weekend and will post what it was as soon as I nail it down.
I don't see it being the relay since your fuel pump is pressurizing (system relay) and your bike cranks (starter relay). You can check your coil by measuring resistance with your multimeter.
Well after much trouble shooting it seems to be the power commander. If I remove it it starts right up. I went through codes, a replacement coil, and testing crank sensor and pulled it off because I could not think of anything else and sure enough it fired right up. I had a power commander III usb on it forever with no issues. I decided to upgrade to the 5 with some engine work I did and now I am thinking I should have kept the old one.

I have been on the phone with dynojet trying to trouble shoot my power commander and they think it is my battery. Now this is a brand new battery fully charged new from lat year. The bike fires right up when the power commander is not on it. Then they were telling me to RMA it that the turn around is over three weeks to look at it. So now I am thinking the guy doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. I am going to get the battery tested to rule it out. Does anyone have a recommendation for a different EFI tuner. Kind of annoyed with Dynojet right now.
