intermittent charging problem 2012 FLHX

Hope somebody has some ideas for me here. I have a 2012 Streetglide that seems to have an intermittent charging problem.

Is there a common problem with these bikes where the charging system loses a connection?

It actually lost connection over a bump one time. Just hoping this is common and easily remedied problem?

Sounds like your voltage regulator may be going bad. It often starts as an intermittent problem and becomes progressively worse over time.

Ouch, That was my thought too. Was hoping that wasn't what I heard here...

FYI there was a recall on the voltage regulators back in 2012. Had mine replaced within the first 3 months.

just replaced my voltage reg yesterday for the exact same problem on my 2012 FLHTK. i bought one from cycle electric, it mounts above the oil cooler instead of behind it

the "special product program" from Harley on the voltage reg replacement ended June of 2014.

i did not ask a dealer about any extended coverage, but it wouldn't hurt to try anyway
