Just finished putting 2587 miles on my '15 Ultra Low with the wife. Northern VA to the Smokies (Dragon/Cherohala/Moonshiner 28/Diamondback etc...). 3 days in that area. Then off to Memphis for the weekend. Then return trip to Northern VA. Total of 10 days. We do those types of trips 3-4 times a year.
Used to do 3-5 day trips on the SuperGlide with no problem, but once we bumped up the number of days, we moved to the '12 Street Glide, and now the '15 Ultra Low. As much as I love the Low, there is something to be said for throwing your leg over the SuperGlide and hitting the road for the twisties that ya just don't get with the Low.
Certainly all of the above with my 2013 Electra Glide Classic. I commute on one of my bikes nearly every day. On the weekends my wife and I will typically ride 100 - 200 miles once or twice during the weekend. This summer we are planning a nine day trip to the northeast ultimately spending a few days in Maine before returning to Virginia.
The only time I don't like riding the EG is in stop-and-go traffic...the bike doesn't like it either.
Yes, I tour extensively each year. I tour on all bikes big and small. My ride to Sturgis this year will be a Street 750. Last year it was a Street Bob, the year before that a XL1200L and the year before that it was an Ultra Classic.
I'll paraphrase Honda's old 60's saying. From the mighty to the mini I tour them all.
I typically don't do week-long trips because of my work schedule. But we do a lot of weekend trips and long rides. I also use it to commute to work which is 80 miles each way.
