Quick Detach trouble?
I've bought and installed the quick detach kit on my 02 Electra Glide Classic. The tour pak locks in snug with no problems. But the docking points for my back rest are about 1/4 inch to far apart and the upright doesn't lock as snug. And it actually came loose once. Real lucky the luggage rack caught the license plate. It was a real sick feeling for me and especially my wife!!!! Who grabbed ahold quick!!!

Are they installed correctly? The plates are side-specific. That could be a possibility, I suppose. I've never had this problem, and I've installed that hardware on 3 difficult bikes.

Yeah thought about that. But if I recall correctly during install. Due to the angle of the bend in the bracket they'll only mount on correct side and if you did mount incorrectly the docking point would be against the saddle bag. But I will take another look at that. Cause you never know. especially if I've done it.

My bad on the description of which docking points I was referring to. My problem is front to back. Not side to side. It's a great fit there. The front point where the back rest slides into, when it locks onto the rear it pulls the forked front back.
