My bike is a 05 FLHT. Has anyone mounted a detach tour pak rack (2-up) and had clearance issues between the mount and the layback license plate mount? The MoCo catalog doesn't list a relocation kit for the license plate bracket and I can't call the dealer until the morning...
I've been staring at this setup for about 8 hrs now... I still can't get the license plate bracket (layback) to fit under the detach 2-up tour pak rack. I called the dealership and there isn't a relocation kit for the license bracket and the parts counter guy claims there shouldn't be any clearance issues. I'm short by 1/2" to get the bracket to fit. There isn't anyway the docking points are on wrong or in the wrong position, only one way to go...
Once the garage gets below 120 degrees I'll head out and take another look...
Pics? Let me see what you're looking at. TNW, the bike looks great. I asked someone else this earlier today in another post...do have the chrome engine upgrade kit on your bike? Let me see some pics of that motor...I'm back and forth on whether or not I want to do that.
Thanks for the compliment! I'll shoot some pix in the morning of my problem and snap a couple of the chrome engine kit... I ordered the kit thru M&M Cycles and put it on myself. As a matter of fact, all the parts have come from M&M Cycles. I left the motor in the bike... it was a little tight swapping out the rocker boxes and covers plus I added chrome hardware to all of it much give me less space to work with on top of the tight quarters. (The chrome hardware for the covers have taller heads than the stock hardware)
I have a 2000 roadglide w/layback license bracket and detach. tourpak. I have no clearance problems at all. Maybe the pics will help. I've never heard of this problem.

Still waiting on those pics!
Bill, do you ever have a problem with LEO's and your tag not being so visible? Or maybe it's more visible than it appears in the pics...
