Not all of them. Look at the website for the Katmandu campground - they seem to discourage it.

I was going to pipe in on that but waited for someone else to say it.
I stayed at Katmandu in 2010, and will again this year. It's very tame and has great facilities.
It's also only one exit away and on the right side of Sturgis... no traffic to fight to get to the good places.

The Chip wasn't bad (stayed there in 2011) but it is noisy like Lions said and the facilities are terrible for your basic out in the field tent camper.
Concerts though... awesome.

Going to stay at a camp grounds in Spearfish. Going to catch a show at the chip and crash there one night but I don't want to deal with all the craziness every night.

I have a reservation at Custer State Park . I'm not a partier but I believe everyone should go to Sturgis, Check out the insanity, get the t-shirt, and ride the area. If you are not worried about going to the concerts you can can stay farther away and just ride in for the day. I think last time I actually made it into Sturgis for one afternoon to walk around. I would rather be out riding.

Sturgis is Sturgis. If you want the Blackhill's best rides, best weather window, the first 2 or 3 weeks of September are dryer, warm during the day (70F) and cooler at night (45F). September has less rain and rates are back to we are in S.D. and we are glad for your business. But it ain't Sturgis week. No lines at the gas pumps, restaurants are happy to see you again, motels have been cleaned and repaired and offer discounts again. But it ain't Sturgis. Sturgis is an event, the Black Hills Rally by name, but you cannot say you have been to Sturgis if you at least did not go downtown once during Sturgis week.

Does anyone have info to share on Lamphere campground, facilities esp sh*tters and showers, shade, places to sit out a storm, moon dust, etc? Also about the service available in a few of the campgrounds where they provide the tent and a couple cots (think it's called Contentment...clever huh?!)? Would appreciate any info. Thanks.

As one that's been to Sturgis on more then one occasion, I never really understand the "no shade" comment only because I'm up early and out riding or visiting some sight and don't return to the campground till later in the evening each day. I'm never hanging out at the campground during the day so the shade means nothing to me. Though the sun does beat down on the fly of the tent.......

If you have colors, and they're for a club, you already know how to find the answers that you need.
