Finally got around ta takin' a coupla pics of the Whelen dash strobe system ah installed the other day. Got the amber units, which will help if we git into low visibility, or need ta try to slow/divert traffic if someone goes down or otherwise needs us ta help control traffic... These units normally come in blue/red, red/red - but can be custom ordered in amber. Somewhat pricey at 'bout $450, but if ya everneed 'em, they're worth it...
Looks good with the turn signals being the same color. Like they are meant to be there. Do they work like a flashing arrow? from left to right and right to left? Or inward to outward?
If you'll look at the pics, you'll see two different light patterns - it alternates between them. On a narrow platform like a m/c, arrows can tend to be confusing, since you "run out of room" before you can really establish a direction.
I have the Whelen strobes in my truck for when I plow. Good quality pieces. They are distracting and bright when driving the truck, I can't imagine having them 1 foot from my nose.
Are you a volunteer cop/firefighter where you need this?
I can't imagine needing strobes on a bike otherwise.
