Default Luggage rack or tour pack options

Good morning all,

I am a little unclear on the options I have for carrying luggage on my 2012 RKC. I have purchased the 4 point dock hardware, but want to know what my options are for adding storage and if I need to find something that works with the docking hardware?

It is not something I am going to use a lot so I am not sure I want to spend the high dollars on the tour pack options.

Anyone have ideas that are less expensive?

Thanks and have a great day!

The easiest, and most versatile option, is to get yourself a luggage rack and sissy bar. Since you have the 4-point docking hardware, they can go on and off the bike in seconds.

Here's a great luggage rack.

Here's a great sissy bar. (Don't forget - you'll need a pad for that sissy bar).

After that, grab yourself one of these, and you can throw it on the bike when you're traveling, and take it right into the house/hotel/brothel with you.

As expensive as a Tour-Pak? No. Almost as expensive? Yes. Just depends on what you're looking for, I suppose.

For about $200 I got a Mutazu univeral trunk (http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?c...285&s=prod.php) with rack and used stock mount. It isn't as big or nice as the Harley one but for trips 2-3 times a year, provides good lockable storage no one is gonna detach and steal. Six bolts mount it on and off.

Both great ideas folks -thank you for responding.

With the Mutazu does it mount using the 4 point hardware or do I need to buy something in addition to that?

I did what From Behind said - but used a Kury King Bag. I use the backrest whenever my wife rides - but don't need all that other stuff 99% of the time.

The Matazu box is just a box - you'll have to get the detachable mount for it.

I had the same questions and chose the wide luggage rack and this inexpensive bag set from Wilson Leather for just over $100. You can use any one or all 4 bags.

I also went with the inexpensive Mutazu tour park.

Came painted to match the bike for around $100. If also works as a sissy bar for a passenger. Price included back pad, lock, interior foam pad and cable supports. Great deal.

I installed an inexpensive (also Mutazu) top rack, and use it for a bag to carry into the motel at night.

In addition to the 4 point mounts you need a bracket from harley. Makes it a 1 minute on/off snap.

Have used it for the last 3 years. Much lighter than the Harley tour pak, but also smaller.

Got it because I was unsure how much I might use a trunk.

Look on eBay for a seller called boscomarcus, I bought a rack and 4 point dock last year and it still looks new. Rack, sissy bar and pad are one unit and the seat back is adjustable. Good quality and great price.

I'm going with an old tour pack from the 60's or early 70's. I like the old styling and the bars. It is work in progress. I have about $250 in it right now. $100 for the pack, and $120 for the tour pack mount. The rest is odds and ends.
