I have a stage one and V&H dual ovals on my 05' RK. I recently put on V&H dresser duals (true duals). I am now experiencing a significant amount of decel pop. I have already checked to eliminate air leaks as a cause. Is this normal with this setup or am I running lean and in need of a dyno tune? I am currently using a SERT. Any help would be appreciatied.
Thanks
Like what gunrunner said! It's not good for the engine and it will get worse as time goes on! Lean condition makes the engine run hotter and beat up your valves!

Decell popping is the result of a lean condition retune is needed.
You are running lean....run, don't walk to the nearest tuner, or find the MAP on your SERT that more closely resembes TD's and SE A/C and load it into the ECM.
Everyone's right -- you're running lean, but what octane gas are you running too? I mistakenly put 87 octane in mine once and, whoa nelly, sounded like the fourth of July on decel. Once I reloaded with higher octane gas, most of it went away.
My 2002 FLHTCpops on decel as well noticeable more with Sunoco premium. However, it spits and pukes less on take off with this gas. This would indicate a lean mixture as well but the plugs are always black and I have to clean them after every few rides. Bike gets like 35mpg on highway at 70mph and I ride it easy. I have never been able to figure this out over the past 1.5 years and moco mechanics state jet and mixture is correct.
I have a 07 SE Ultra. SE Pipes, air cleaner, and SERT. Two dealers have dyno'd, still the bike has decel pop. Both dealers HD dealers spend close to 5 hours on the dyno. The bike runs great. Going to keep working on it, but I don't have much hope for a solution. IT does not seem to run hot, it does not ping, it pulls hard.
ThunderMax Autotune will make a huge difference in the way your bike will run. No decel popping. Stong and smooth acceleration that feels like it should have from the start. Expensive but well worth it IMHO.
