puzzled in ohio
Left the house Monday and got 1/4 mile and tachometer went out and the bike started missing and backfiring made it home then was hard to start....2001 Electra Glide Classic carb model....any help would be great

If the above doesn't solve it recharge your battery, then try starting your bike again. If that works, don't assume all is fine, check battery condition (many auto parts stores can do that) and replace if necessary. Go to the Tech Electrical section where you will find two Stickies on checking your charging system, which should identify any underlying problems. Let us know what you find.

Battery good....New wrinkle today I pulled the plugs had no spark....turned around to get the new plugs ....plugs started lightly firing and I was five feet away and the ignition was the only thing on.....?????

Now on to the real...Ive gotten bad gas from two different gas stations on two different trips on my old bike. Did you just fill up recently at all?
