All Problem Solvers Welcome!!!
The Power Vision does not piggyback.
Fuel Moto sells the Power Vision with auto tune for $499.
You CAN purchase the wide band pro tune kit for it, but not necessary, unless you're going way wild with the engine.
My PV2 (Same as PV, with connections for a '14+ Touring bike) is a flash tuner, and I have run many auto tune runs with it.
PowerVision, FP3, TTS and the SE(PST)(SPT) are flash tuners.
You plug them in, gather data, build maps, load data, and can take them off and put them in a drawer.
And if you want those apples sliced, you can buy the SAME PV2 for $429, but without the excellent support and accessories provided by FM...
...and about HALF the $849 you quoted for the Tmax.
.
"Piggyback" units have to stay with the bike, and do not program or tune the ECM.
Examples:
FuelPak adjusts AFR in open and closed loop, but does not automatically adjust the timing. You have to call for a list of codes based on your mods.
Cobra Fi2000: Works off Continuously Variable Tuning, reads the pulses and pulse length form the injectors, makes adjustments, and does not run a constant AFR. It does not have a set "tune" but rather is a constant read and adjust type fuel management unit.
The PCV tuners can be used with a canned map, or can be adjusted with a laptop or can by dyno tuned. They override the Harley-Davidson tune.
So i am pretty set on taking the old cobra fi2000 out and putting in the vance and hines fuelpak. I realize it doesnt have all of the great functions that a lot of the other units have. But, i only have a high flow filter, true duels and slip ons. I dont plan on going more than that anytime soon so i dont think i will need more than the fuelpak delivers.

I honestly don't think it's worth the money to go to another piggyback unit.
I don't LIKE the Cobra, but I do not believe there is enough improvement to justify going to a FuelPak.
My 2 cents, of course.
The good news, more money now, or save for a flash tuner down the road. I do not recommend SE tuners, but any of the others, including a Tmax will be a great improvement.
Check and clean electrical connections... and don't forget to reattach with dielectric grease on the connections.
As far as tuners, I am biased with a PowerVision from Fuelmoto.
I get all sorts of map assistance from both Fuelmoto AND Dynojet. I have used both as sources for base maps.
A few basic auto tune sessions (on '07 & later bikes) and the tune is dialed in. On a tune for my '03 (without O2 sensors) they gave me a tune that was spot on, without the need for a basic auto tune session. I'm sure if I had problems, they would have tweaked it for me.
Good luck with your decision.....

Also, an update, I took the wife for a 20 minute ride today and the bike didn't die or run like complete ****, but it wasn't running as good as weeks ago. I got a few loud bangs and back fires on deceleration. The bike didn't have 100% of the power and it just felt like it wasn't tuned at all.
That's why I'm searching for a new tuner.
