I'm back!! With some issues?!?!
My data field in the upper right hand corner says I haven't posted on here in almost a year. First off I haven't ridden much towards the end of last summer due to medical issues with my wife and also due to a small promotion at work early this spring.
So, fast forward to about 30 days ago, or mid April, and I was fortunate enough to come across a "deal I couldn't pass up" I traded my 2004 Electra Glide for a shiny new 2015 Limited and so far couldn't be happier! My 04 had true duals with 3-1/2" Rhineharts and was getting to be too loud for my old age (pushing 50) so I went with SE street cannons (I think that's what theyre called?) and I actually love the sound! Little tamer than the Rhineharts but still a deep sound on acceleration. I also put on the adjustable rider backrest right away and really like it so far.
Now to my issue,,, On the old bike I used to get terrible tailbone pain and that seems to be taken care of with the new bike which makes me very happy. But, my legs/hips get real sore after around 300 miles. I have highway pegs and they help but for some reason around that 300 mile mark I get that pull on my inner thighs and into my hips and it gets to where I can only do about 40-50 miles at a time!
A friend of mine is experimenting with his pegs to try and get a little less "straight leg" as he puts it, and find the sweet spot. I have my pegs set right now, as I did on the 04 EG, where my legs are almost straight. Give me some ideas on what you guys are doing to extend your comfort on the bike!
Also, the buffeting issue,,the slotted fairing really helps, My issue is that when I do put my feet out on the pegs I get a lot of buffeting off the lowers. Its so bad that it tries to pull my shirt right off over my head!! It only happens when I set my feet outside the lowers on pegs and it doesn't matter if the vents are open/closed. I know the wind is coming up my legs but is there a fix for this? I also think I need another inch of windshield and I think I'm gonna go with a LRS like I had on my old bike.
Anyways, give me some advice guys! This is my first bike with lowers so I feel like I'm starting over!

You might want to try a set of fangs for the front forks to direct the air flow further outward from the center of the bike. That may help a lot with the lowers.
My solution on the SGS without lowers was to install a set of floorboard extensions and adjusted the highway pegs so I can place the heel of my boot on the front of each floorboard and the ball of each foot on the highway pegs. Your knees will be slightly bent and you will be sitting in a position like a recliner. Much more natural sitting position and very comfortable with no buffeting. Works for me.

I don't have any issues with my shirt blowing up.
Try adjusting the vents on the fairing edge, and opening the lower vents. Make sure your fairing center vent is open.
To fix my hip pain, I switched to a Corbin seat. On the stock seat my hips were in mad pain, on my Corbin, my *** can outride my bladder all day.

What is your build? I am 6'3" and 210 with arthritis in my hips, bad knees and back, and a messed up ankle. I have to move around a lot on the seat. I have a Tall Boy seat with the non adjustable back rest, lowers, and the tribal highway pegs. I have noticed that peg face angle can actually make a difference. Adjusting the pegs to a position that my feet are being "held on" by the rubber to rubber contact. This allows for less muscle use and a more relaxed quad, taking strain off of your hips.
You may want to look at getting the horn of your seat narrowed as well. You could have excess pressure on your inner thighs, straining your hips. I will be doing this in the future, as it will help with my issues.
just some ideas, and I hope that you get it figured out soon.
