Got an 07 Ultra with the stock original regulator on it. Yesterday in an 82 degree day apparently it went south. At my stop the battery did not have enough juice to start the bike. A jump start got me home barely.
Today I went through the trouble shooting procedures listed on this site. Everything is checking out fine. Battery voltage alone and running, load test, resistance in the VR and stator voltages. In other words, I do not think I am recreating the failure as it was heat related.
Heat to me, means the VR is bad. Before I go through good money after bad, wanted to see if any others had thoughts or tricks to test. Not really wanting to ride around testing the bike in the heat, leaving me stranded.
