After visiting my local HD dealership; I've decided I am just not ready to take on a new payment when my 07 FLHRC is in great shape! An I still love riding i!
So, I'm thinking maybe a trip to Fuel Motto after riding season. The one thing I am ready to upgrade immediately is a sound system for the bike. I'm tired of my Shuffle and ear plugs!
First off I am mechanically challenged, but I have access to a couple good INDYS, and a HD dealership. I am looking for recommendations on a sound system. I'm hard hearing so I need something that rocks over the Screamin Eagle tail pipes at hwy speeds. While volume is important; I want it to sound good too. Would like to play AM\FM, my mp3's, CD's. I don't want GPS, headphone systems or any of that! Last thing I want is the ole lady in my ear when I'm riding!
Find decent comfortable ear buds would be my suggestion. You have a Road King so your options are quite limited unless you opt for a high dollar detachable fairing. The choice is yours but frankly I do not need tunes when I ride. If I do my iPhone has boo koo tunes.
At highway speeds you will get much better sound at a much lower cost using a set of bluetooth earbuds. Get a set that will allow you to control your device.
I am on call 24/7/365 so I can attach to both my ipod and my phone at the same time.
You won't be heard if you use it on your phone but it will alert you that a call came in.
I have a stereo and speakers in my fairing and on my lowers. It sounds like crap at highway speeds.
You can spend from $12 to $60 on a headset. I think I spent about $40.
Buy one that wraps around your neck and has the earbuds on about a 6 inch wire.
The earbuds that are attached directly to the hard plastic neckband won't stay in your ears very well.
