After visiting my local HD dealership; I've decided I am just not ready to take on a new payment when my 07 FLHRC is in great shape! An I still love riding i!

So, I'm thinking maybe a trip to Fuel Motto after riding season. The one thing I am ready to upgrade immediately is a sound system for the bike. I'm tired of my Shuffle and ear plugs!

First off I am mechanically challenged, but I have access to a couple good INDYS, and a HD dealership. I am looking for recommendations on a sound system. I'm hard hearing so I need something that rocks over the Screamin Eagle tail pipes at hwy speeds. While volume is important; I want it to sound good too. Would like to play AM\FM, my mp3's, CD's. I don't want GPS, headphone systems or any of that! Last thing I want is the ole lady in my ear when I'm riding!

Thanks,

For a little under $350 I recently put a Rockford Fosgate PBR 300x2 amp and Infinity Kappa 62.11 speakers with adapters in my SG. I primarily use a Bluetooth receiver for iTunes via my iPhone 6. I'm not breaking sound barriers with it but cruising down the highway at 75mph and being able to hear my favorite tunes clear and crisp is fine by me.

What's your budget?

How many speakers are we upgrading?

Heads up....most powerful amps that are well priced will cause some or all FM reception loss. The ones that don't are either expensive or there's just not that many great options.

Do

+1 As decencyxdefied said the PBR and the kappa's are a great place to start. Although I like the Cerwin Vega B2 a little better than the PBR these days. Same price.

Same here. I think it sounds cleaner and at 2ohm it's 250w per channel.

FM reception...hit or miss man. My buds bike didn't really lose any but we're city boys. I read another post where a member used aluminum type tape (he called it space tape) and kept about 85% of his FM.

That's pretty much what I figured. Gotta buddy that wants me to do an install on his Ultra but he wants to keep FM. I just don't get it. So many better options than FM.

The only station I ever listen to on fm is the local ESPN and that's only during football season if the Patriots are playing. USB or CD pretty much everything else has better sound quality and no damn commercials
