What type of rider are you? weekends, touring, daily? if its all of the above like me you may want to keep your current ride and get the 2nd bike. but if your into old bikes and do short rides on weekends and such, and have the ability to perform the maintenance, get into the zone and enjoy old bikes.

I'm one of the previous posts.
I have a 2013 Street Glide, a 2005 Ironhorse rigid chopper, a 1985 Wide Glide evo 4 speed/kicker, and a 1976 FLH shovelhead.
I do any and all work required on all of them.
Nothing about the previous posts says that older bikes aren't for us, just giving good advice to someone who may not have the right experience to make a wise choice.
Maybe the OP is experienced, but asking for opinions on a forum makes me think not.

I agree, you did give good advice, and there were others. Seems I got a little attitude reading some of the replies knocking the old stuff, my bad.

I have 2 old Shovels, they are all I rode for 25+ years until I bought the RKC. They can be pretty reliable if they are built properly, but they require ongoing attention to stay ahead of problems. Really fun bikes for short rides, but IMO they make better 2nd bikes than primary bikes. If I could only have one bike I'd keep the RKC, I have way more fun doing trips with friends than bar hopping and bike shows.

The old stuff is very kool and great fun if properly maintained but Ya do either need be a very good mechanic or have deep enough pockets to afford one. They can replace your current ride if ya show it proper respect. Otherwise I hope ya enjoy walking...
