Title says it all, I'm looking hard at a 15 Road Glide, moving over from my 10 Street Glide in Vivid Black,, I think the RG looks mean in Black Denim, how do you care for it,, I don't have a clue, and would like to know before I buy one!
The RG I've priced out includes Black V&H Pro Pipe, upgraded air filter and hi flow back plate, Tune of course, Hog Tunes front Speakers, and 4 Ch Amp, (To add Bag lids in a couple months when Hog Tunes has them ready)
Opinions on my "Build" and color care please?
This particular dealer said he liked Hog Tunes better then the Boom upgraded stuff? I've heard good on both.
The care is easy...no wax, just wash. Liquid dawn works great on the black denim paint. Keep 1 thing in mind. The dealer never tells you this. The denim paint is intended to weather and look older as is ages. So the look you have today is not even close to the look 3 or 4 years from now. I had an 08 black denim cross bones and after 4 years in my opion looked like crap....i agree that when its new it looks awesome, but as it ages it really changes its appearance
Thanks, after I did search I found the same info,, (Forgot search works well on this forum, unlike some others) I do wonder about my other part of the thread, Stereo and V&H Pro Pipe,, in Black.
Black denim is the best thing that's ever happened to me.......
I've very meticulous about everything...... Black denim makes my life so good. Buy one and you see. I wash the bike once a month to remove road grime. Other than that.wet sponge and simple wipe down. Bike looks as good as new.
the Harley denim cleaner is the best by far. I detail bikes at my dealership and that is all I use on denim bikes. there has not been anything that has come close to it. Also, be careful what you use, I have seen guys bring their bikes to me after trying other cleaning supplies or glass cleaner and it will rub the paint off and make it shine. if you just use the denim cleaner you will be fine.
Its a great color. it doesn't scratch as easy and stays looking nice longer than the vivid black. I hate vivid black just because it is so difficult to keep looking good.
if you use glass cleaner and rub in the same spot for too long it will turn the flat black into a shiny primer look. I have seen it happen way to often.
