Default Reach Seat Question

I just bought a 2008 Electra Glide last week. I LOVE it!! I can flat foot it, but I'm looking to get a little better footing for backing her (I'm 5ft 6). I was looking at a couple of the reach seats on Ebay but I'm unsure if there is a difference between a 52619-08 and 52619-08A. Anyone know what the "A" is for in the part number? Thanks!

If I am not mistaken, the A at the end normally means it replaced the previous model for what ever reason.

Or sometimes the A could mean a slightly different fitment to accommodate like a tour pack, or just a back rest.

Unless you ride 2 up often, consider sending your stock seat to:

www.meancitycycles.com

Less expensive than reach seat, or any aftermarket seats. Plus you can specifice how low and how far forward you want. A lot of us have good luck with them.

Visit a fit shop type dealer so you can put that seat on your bike and see what your backside thinks of it before you go buy one. You may well not like it nearly as much as you hope.

Do the 2009+ seats fit your bike (6-gal tank)? If so they came out with a "low" version around 2011 that is an inch lower...

Thanks for the help. I did end up finding somewhere that showed the "a" meant that they changed a little of something. I checked with a dealer the other day and they seemed to not have a demo for the reach seat for my bike. Its such a bummer to not know what to go with in terms of seats without being able to try them out. I was looking at the Harley reach seat because of the lower price, but I also was looking into the Mustang LowDown and the LePera Maverick. Not sure how much the Maverick lowers you though. I also don't know the history of my bike, but it almost seems as if it feels a little lower now than it did when I first got on it. Either I'm getting used to it, or maybe the previous owner didn't use the stock seat and its breaking in a little.

I seem to get conflicting information as to whether or not the new "low" touring seat will fit my bike. I have the 6 gallon tank. Some info says it will fit and other info tells me its just for the bikes with the new frame.

My previous bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan 800 and it had a really nice mustang seat on it which was very comfortable, at least as comfortable as you can get on that small of a bike.

I'm pretty sure the 6 gallon tank is the key. I have the 08 Reach seat on my 09 UC and I also have a stock '14 Triglide seat that fits the bike fine. It's at MCC being lowered and getting the narrow nose mod.

Not all dealers are what Harley calls Fit Shops. You need to find one that is. Fit Shop dealers are specially set up to help you select seats, bars, etc.

Go to this web site to find one:
http://www.harley-davidson.com/conte...r-locator.html

Put in your zip code, and select "Refine Your Search", check "HD-1 Fit Shop" and it will list the dealers near you that can help you with finding out if the reach seat (or a few others) is for you.

The change might have been in the mounting tang. Older bikes have the tang on the seat that pushes into the bike to secure it. Newer bikes have the tang on the bike and you have to line up the hole in the seat to secure it. I'm unsure what year that would be for the EG though.
