The lock on my 13 RG is broken, it won't lock just keeps turning. The latch works fine. What is the cost to fix it. I just picked the bike up Friday. Would the warranty cover it? I believe it was broken when I bought it.

With the bag open, you can watch the lock as you turn the key. There is a cam hook with a tab to prevent spinning see if that is turning.
I replaced a lock - $50 and Two came in the package with 2 keys. Take the black cover off your key and you will find a 4 digit key code. Give that to dealer when ordering the lock and will be keyed to match.
Never had the lock itself break BUT i have had the lock screws come loose. Not sure about warranty? You should just take it apart and take a look.No big deal.Something like that could be an EZ fix not worth taking to the dealer/Leaving it/time for them to look at/fix/then picking back up. Just take a quick look...Now if its under warranty then maybe..
But best to figure out what makes your bike tick...Just sayin..
Look at your manual to see what it looks like...Or check the many online parts manuals like Ronnie's

Like others say...easy/cheap fix, but see if dealer will cover 1st. One of mine came apart and I dissected the other side to see what was required to repair. Ended up needing a small spring & I bought at Ace HW for under $1. These locks/latches are pretty simple...just need to know how they're built. Enjoy!
i had an issue with my trunk lock on my 2013....couldn't get the key back in after i unlocked it one day. really weird, the slot wouldn't line up so the key couldn't go back in. since i could still use the trunk latch i just waited for service and had them fix it then. was under warranty so no problem for me.
