Looking at getting a new head pipe. Currently running a decatted Headpipe. Fuel Moto has two 2-1-2 head pipes. Does one have advantage over the other. I noticed the cheaper one comes with exhaust gaskets, the other does not say. For those that bought the stainless, did it come with gaskets? Going on 2012 street glide. Still on fence between dresser duals and 2-1-2 system
Just installed this header. It does not come with gaskets. I did not have the SE style or James gaskets on hand and had to use the stock conical ones, I think that it would fit easier with the SE style flat gaskets.
I am a big Fuel Moto fan and have cams, tuner, and mufflers from them. If you were running a stock header with the cat it would be a good upgrade. Their headpipe is awesome but performance gain will be minimal since you already have a decatted pipe. I was looking at the same thing when I bought my cams but the gains would have only been 1-2 hp. It will look the same under your factory heat shields so unless you are looking for sound change like dresser duals, you are fine with what you got. Put your cash on something else... I would recommend their mufflers or cams!

I am looking for a sound change. Had made up my mind and was going to order dresser duals until I talked to someone at fuel Moto and they said I would lose 5-8 horsepower on the dresser duals. Hate to spend $400 and lose performance.
I can't imagine the fuel moto header changing your sound enough for you to notice as it is still a 2-1-2. I was looking for a change, been running the same setup since my last bike. I have their 4" mufflers and just ordered the 4.5 pro touring mufflers. They will be here tomorrow! Considered the headpipe several times but just not worth the $$ for minimal benefits. If I upgrade from by 11' someday I will buy their pipe instead of decatting it.
If you want a change and a performance upgrade you could always go 2-1. Was curious about their setup but wasn't willing to pull the trigger yet.

I installed the Jackpot head pipe on my 2012 Ultra. I found it fit best if I stacked two Sreaming Eagle gaskets in each head port.
If you go with 2-1-2, then Jackpot or Fullsac make fine headers. I have the Jackpot. Gaskets are not going to come with the header. Get the stock gaskets at the dealer, not the SE gaskets. Trust me on this. And use a damn good torque wrench. Then after about 500 miles, re-torque the exhaust flange nuts then you will be 10-8.
You will definitely lose performance going to true duals. What mufflers are you running? If you want better sound and performance look at a set of mufflers from Fuel Moto. Their dyno tuned Jackpot mufflers perform well and sound great. You will not see a significant increase in power going from your head pipe to a 2-1-2. Spend the money elsewhere.
