My when was 3/17/15 I was doing about 65 on I 10 going into Phoenix from the west valley, getting ready to go into the HOV lane about 1/2 mile ahead lady passes me comes into my lane then loses control of her car, slams into the cement wall in the middle bounces off just in front of me. I get slowed way down (thank god for the linked brakes they did their job) I just clipped her right front but kept the bike up pulled over to the side of the highway parked the bike got off and did a touchdown dance yelling you dumb bitch you didn't take me down.
Still did 5,000.00 damage to my bike but I walked away so szomebody was looking down on me that day.
We have to ride super aggressively aware and be seen and heard all-the-time and even then be aware of the potential situation that you did not see coming.
I am really happy both you & your wife are OK - but I hope this statement is wrong. I don't want to be involved in an accident on my bike!
Glad OP & his OL are OK and YES, that statement IS wrong. More often than not, it's up to us to keep ourselves safe & upright. I know vigilant riders who've been riding literally their whole lives and have never gone down.

It's important to pay attention out there.
I've been riding street bikes for over 30 years, and I've not yet been in a wreck involving another vehicle. I've rode through some ditches, and last month, into the median at 77mph when a semi decided to change lanes as I was passing... but so far, no crashes.
My wife always says there are 2 kinds of bikes, those that have been down, and those that are going down.
Doesn't necessarily mean a crash, could be a drop in the garage, or even a slow lay over.
This '14 is the first bike I've owned that hasn't been on her side.
I live in Sierra Vista and make that route to Bisbee at least 2x a week. Never had a problem at 90 and 80 but stuff happens. Gotta be careful out there.
