Default front signal relocation road king custom

so i've been looking for a reasonable way to relocate the front turn signals on the road king custom. after waffling back and forth on the hd 'custom touring bullet front turn signal kit' i decided to bite the bullet and go for it. having the new bike discount didn't hurt either. in general, i'm very pleased with the set up. i was worried that the detachable windshield would not be compatable with the kit. the dealer wasn't sure either, so he said if it didn't work, i could return the kit.

well, it did work. the turn signal brackets mount on top of the windshield rubbers so the windshield bracket goes between the turn signal and the forks. sounds funky, but actually works pretty good. i would have liked a different way, but this seems to work good and does not look terrible either. definitely way better than the signals hanging off the handlebar.

oh, by the way. i checked in the parts manual with the instruction kit and the parts are the same stock parts as on the street glides. i checked the individual parts from the glide against the kit, and the kit comes out about 10 bucks cheaper.

kit number was 69577-06, msrp 149.95 (111.00 from zanottis). install time about an hour, taking your time.

Looks good. Although I never felt the need to move mine.

Nice job. I did the same kit on my 07 FLHRS, along with WildChubby's & braided lines.

Love the look of the Custom with this upgrade, real clean look.

Ride safe.

Thanks for the pictures.....been waffling on this one myself, searching and searching for all possible pictures. I ordered the kit earlier this week, just waiting on delivery.

Necessary upgrade if you intend to run a fairing -- otherwise, I'll leave mine stock.

i never said it was an upgrade. how many things do we do to our bikes that are purely cosmetic? 10-15 thousand maybe? me personally, i hate the turn signals hanging from the handlebars so i've been looking for a way to relocate them. there is a side benefit of getting rid of 2 wires that run along your handlebars so it cleans that up a little bit (if you're into that sort of thing). i'm not putting a gun to your head and telling you that you have to do it, merely providing some information for others that may have wanted to do the same thing, but didn't know if the hd kit would work or not..... besides, the more of you who decide to leave your signals hanging, the more 'different' it makes my bike.

*edit* - okay, i saw where another poster mentioned it as an upgrade..... can i have some steak sauce with that size 10 shoe leather?

O/K, so I told my wife the relocation & WildChubby's were a "Saftey Upgrade".

Have a nice weekend.

Actually, while I've left mine on the end of the bars at present, I've considered the relocation. After putting Wind One 518s (Chubby II) bars on last year, all the wiring is inside except for the Turn Signal wires -- no decent way to run them inside without looking rube goldberg. Getting rid of those wires would clean things up.
