Unhappy Help with Handle Bars

Hello Everyone,

I have a 93 Electra Glide Classic (FLHTC).

I want to put 14" apes on it and have 2 questions/problems.

1) The front brake it has the double disk. where can i get a custom build brake system so i can extend the brake line to fit. has anyone done this any other way?

2) the front suspension. I was told it is an air ride suspension and that it is connected through my stock bars to work with the brake and that is stopping me from going any higher. Is there a way around this? the only way they told me i could do this is if i bought a progressive monotube suspension and installed that to eliminate the air ride.

any other tips tricks or ideas are always appreciated. thank you for the help.

Getting extended brake lines is no big deal. There are several vendors that offer them. Mine aren't extended on my '94 but they did need replacing and I went with some from https://www.magnumshielding.com/. The air on the front forks is an anti-dive system. Mine is still in the bars but it can be retained outside the bars with a suitable volume vessel with a schrader valve......soda can volume I think. Ask over on the Evo forum for better response.

When I had my 89FLHT - I removed the entire anti-dive air setup and all that wiring. (the parts manual plus the service manual made it much easier to "see" how it worked and how to remove it). Then 60 bucks for set of progressive springs and some heavier weight fork oil and the front suspension was much improved.

Switched out the brake lines with stainless steel and installed a set of lyndall brake pads, definitely improved the performance of the single caliper brakes from that generation.
