Tech question. My buddy has a 05 road glide. Once it's warm the speedometer will start bouncing all over and fall to zero. His turn signal automatic turn off also stops working. The kicker is while this happens if he lets off the throttle it starts sputtering and quits. But if he keeps the throttle on, no stalling. We are thinking it's an electrical issue- anybody encountered this?
variable speed sensor, some have luck pulling and cleaning it but was told to replace it and its chea enough I would . not hard to replace its under the starter
The loss of turn signal cancellation is because the turn signal computer is no longer getting enough information from the malfunctioning sensor.
Before you buy a new one, take the old one out for an examination. If the magnetic sensing area is full of metal particles, clean it off and put it back in, see if that makes a difference. Sometimes it might, other times no.
I replaced the sensor TWICE in my 2000 Road Glide.
First time at 39,000 miles.
The second time at 112,245.
