When push rods are perfectly straight and show no sign of wear, you can use stiffer springs and significantly increase the RPM of the engine; this is my experience.
When you have longer valve stems, greater cam lift, new valve keepers, the 'inside' of a rocker touching the edge of a valve retainer then the swing of the rocker changes and may call for more clearance between the push rods and engine ports.
With stiffer springs and higher RPM the push rods can slightly deform; interference may occur at a specific regime and cause damage because the effort will no longer be aligned.
IMO this broken rocker stand looks like the design work of a beginner. There is plenty of material for identification data and very thin alloy bushings around the rocker shaft.
I am guessing the Nascar looking springs is the problem. Like a previous poster stated, the forged rocker stands are necessary here. The originals broke due to high lift pressures.
