Per my previous post, a friend of mine was doing an engine build, dealer was breaking it in on the dyno. Apparently the breakdown occurred at about 250 miles into the break in.
Which got me thinking - Do tuners who do the break in on the dyno run the bike for that many miles?
When I did my build at Fuel Moto Jamie would not have had time to put that many miles on over night, I suspect he (and most) use the 3rd gear 30->60->30 method, which is much quicker.
I would say somebody was going to there friends and saying check this out or here ride this and see what ya think. Thats way more miles then necessary for a dyno break in.
Mine was just done. I zeroed out the trip when I filled up the tank around the corner from the shop. After break in and all the dyno pulls needed to build a map for a 107" @11.46-1 comp, 9f cams, ported 58tb and hand finished MVA heads, there was less than 100 miles on the trip meter when I picked it up.
