Hi
I have a Digital gear indicator HD part No: 70900078 fitted to my 09 Road King Classic. It has been working fine for the past two years, but now it will only display first gear and 8N in all other gears. Any thoughts as to the cause ?

I have the exact same issue. Tried unplugging it and plugging it back in with bike both running and off. No go.
Remember reading somewhere this part won't work with OEM tourpak amp, which I have, but it did work for several weeks before it quitted.
Hi
I have since posting seen on another site, the issue maybe the Clutch Switch. I have had a look at my Clutch Switch and it seems it is damaged although it is doing its job. On Monday, 15 June, I am changing the Clutch Switch and I am hoping this will solve my problem. I will post again once the job has been done.

OK, here is the weird thing. My kick stand spring broke, so I bungee cord it so at least I can ride the bike. Several times when I use the heel shifter, my heel touches the kick stand extension and felt different when I upshift. And since then, my digital gear indicator start working again, going on 4th days now.
I understand the indicator is electrical, but the shifter is mechanical, no idea why it started working again, I haven't touch the connector under the left side cover since it quit working.
Very interesting. As you know if the side stand is extended and the bike is in gear the bike will switch off, I wonder if the micro switch on the side stand could be my problem ?
