235 lbs, STD springs, 5 turns. Still get some bottoming. Although I might be confusing bottoming for just adjusting too stiff. I need to put some sharpie marks on the piston rods & go for a bumpy ride.
Turn all the way showing 4 thread lines and back off 1/4 turn STD springs are too soft for 235 Lbs.Also front end on the low makes it ride stiff, same rear shocks with same setting on my Limited smooth ride but on wife's low it's harsh due to stiff and less travel in the front forks.
I had to laugh at your earlier post, when i was testing my shocks i had to put a rag around the adjuster as i does rip your skin apart
The 444, s look better for adjustment.
Hopefully someone at progressive will pick up on these threads.

Upon further review... I have to agree with you.
While I thought all the way up was too stiff, I set them that way, put finely calibrated sharpie marks on the piston rod and went for a ride. Came back & all of the marks were gone... used all of the travel. Apparently my not so finely tuned *** couldn't tell at lighter settings that is was hitting the bump stops.
At this setting it's not bad. I did read somewhere that Progressive would change out springs for $20 + shipping.... I might go that route. If the squeeze ever decides to ride with me there's gonna be a problem.
I used black paint and it stayed on - 2 up and 390lbs and I am at two rings (OK just for me at 225Lbs) - I think I need to make it 3 rings - as I bottom on a really bad bump in the road....Progressive warranty is fantastic - I sent back a pair of 940s that where leaking after many, many miles and they sent me a new set of 944's.

NO questions asked - can't beat them.
3 rings would be 6 turns, probably about right. You might even go stiffer than that.
