Default Got No Throttle

After about a 40 mile ride we stop for lunch at Lake Wolford. Went to start up bike after we had lunch, started right up, but twist the throttle and nothing happens. So I turn it off, restart and all is well. About 10 miles down the road and I lose throttle, but bike is still idling. I had to do this about 8 times until I got home which was about a 25 mile ride. Got the bike on the trailer as I'll be taking it in to the shop. I have no idea other than something wrong with the computer. Any ideas?

Broken wire on the connector to the fuel injection behind the air cleaner. Very common problem.

Did you check the CEL codes? Bike probably went into 'limp mode'. Unplug the connection behind the air intake and blow it out to clean it. Use some dielectric grease on the contacts before plugging it back in. Do search for the procedure to check/clear engine codes.

Same thing happened to my 09 with now 12k miles on it yesterday!

Its a bad connection in connector to throttle body thats behind AC.

Remove ac cover & then press release tab on back of connector and remove it,then spray some contact cleaner into connector and other end in throttle body that the conncetor snaps into.

Let dry for couple mins or use compressed air to blow out connector and throttle body when connector seats to ensure cleaner is removed.

Then apply some dialectric grease to connector to help seal out moisture and snap back together and you should be good to go like my bike was.

Thanks for the advise but I'm taking it into the shop today. Who knows what the problem is. And if I do what you guys have said, how am I to know the problem is fixed without taking it for a test ride?

Did they check for a code(s)? Bike went into limp mode and service bulletin tt418 will tell the dealer what to do. The TCA connector behind air cleaner is notorious for this. The pins "fret" due to vibration. Short term fix is unplug, clean and add a little dielectric grease.
