Problem is beach bars which came on RK's prior to 2014 (I believe) don't work for me either. Not sure what all years and what EG's but I know 09 FLHT bars fit me perfectly, unfortunately they don't appear they'll fit the Road King.
I recently rode (a few times) a 2015 Road King Classic and found the bars too high and for me, uncomfortable.
Just did 250 miles on a 2009 Road King Classic, the bars are very different. The 2009 are lower.
Checked the online parts catalogues and the part numbers are also different, confirming the different bars.
The earlier Road King Classic bars might well be good for you.
