We cut the wires on my TBW sensor and spliced those and have had no issues. My friend got that idea here on the forum and has done it to both our bikes with no issues. We actually installed Heat Demons in mine when doing this because I've read they work better than the Harley grips and they were $100 cheaper. We did mess up the right side sensor on these when installing but new one is on the way for $30.

I've put about 400 or so miles on the bike with these bars and I must say, it's the best upgrade I've done to date. The next bike I get, this will be the first change I make. My bars are installed straight up, but they still offer quite a bit of pull-back even in that configuration. I sit in the seat correctly now with my feet slightly forward instead of riding the recurve portion of the seat reaching down and out for the stock bars.

No more lower back and neck pain. The bike dives into corners much easier as well because my hands are higher and move naturally as I enter the curve. If you are on the fence about getting new bars, do it now. It's the best money I have spent on my bike.

Beautiful bike! Love the 110th color scheme. Looks great on this bike and the heritage.

Thanks X! I bought it after debating for several months whether I needed a new bike or not. Every time I saw the AE in the dealership, I gravitated right to it. Finally I ran across one in Kansas City on the last day of the month when the dealership was making a last minute push to hit 200 units for the month. It made for the right deal and I jumped on it.

Of course one month after I bought it, the first literature about the Rushmore bikes hit the Internet. I was stressed about that for a while, but I have a bike that's fairly unique - only around 2900 or so in the world. I have since installed most of the things that make the Rushmore bikes attractive and have something that's not cookie cutter.

I went with the 14s on my 08, had to put on new cable, brake line and extend all the wires. Well worth it for me.

I just did the install on my 2012 Limited and everything works ........ glad I did it but it took more time than I imagined all because of the heated grips. I ended up having to remove the throttle side switch wires stock casing and taping with electrical tape, it was just too bulky to get the wires, TBW and grip wire through.

The power lead connector to the grips was tight from the clutch side. First ride no heat ..... Ended up being corroded connector so I just added some wire and spliced (had to take the radio out to do that).

In everything I've read the switch wiring is long enough (true) but I didn't hear they wouldn't make it to their original mount point (they don't). Mine were long enough to connect under the radio with just enough "comfortable slack" for me. The TBW and grips wires were plenty long enough ....... as mentioned above the heated grip power supply from the other side not so much!

I did put on a +6 clutch cable, nice that the exhaust didn't have to come off for that install. The bottom 2 bolts on the clutch cover were a bit tedious!
