Default Is this Normal?

Yesterday coming home from work I got caught in a very hard downpour. First one with this bike. I saw that the tack and speedo went off and all the warning lights came on. This happened 2 or 3 times, it finally quit raining and everything came back to normal, except the abs light stayed lit.

What do you think is going on?

+1 on not normal. May require removing outer fairing and checking things over

You got water into the electrical system, ditto to take off the front fairing and see if the shrink wrap is off or not present on your connectors.

If she's on warranty get her checked out. Although I would worry too much about it unless it is happening frequently. Today's electronics can act a little funky when wet. My E Glide through out some error codes for a neutral or clutch switch after riding in very heavy rain for 3 days on a tour. I spent a little time with a harley tech in Kelowna BC checking it out and confirmed it was a non issue after running a few test to confirm the switches were not shorted out. We decided it was safe to continue on and I was going to get it checked at my dealer once I got home. A day later the random check engine light stopped coming on and has yet to come on again after 2 years. I had checked for recurring codes at the time and have yet to see the issue again. I have rode through heavy rain since the incident and have never seen a code again.

Just went out of warrant last month, after I got home I do see a little gap on faring on right side, looks like I could get a couple playing cards in the gap. All faring screws are tight. Do they make something to make the faring seal on windshield more water tight?

Is it possible after the stereo modification the faring was not seated properly?

The fairing is never gonna be 100% water tight, there are always gonna be SOME gaps.

Water is always your enemy on a motorcycle. First make sure all is dry now then I would disconnect the battery for a couple seconds and then connect. Maybe it will reset, simple cure for computers etc.

Agreed, Most of the moisture will come in from the top area along the windshield screws. I run a small piece of rubber stripping across the top. You can't even see it when installed. Seems to do the trick. JR
