Hi Tim, No problem. I think Howard has a lot to offer and he can be very helpful and informative. I do think he wastes too much time with the non-stop badmouthing of industry people, if you know what I mean. Other than that he has provided excellent shocks and service to many folks on this site. However there was one guy who didn't get the shocks to work and Howard did try to make him happy, this was on an older bike like mine.
Perhaps it's true, as Howard says, Ohlins shocks are shipped with defective and or substandard parts that he replaces. However, can't see why he'd have to re-shim or re-valve a fully adjustable shock. JRI and Ohlins say they only change preload springs.
The Ohlins "6" 927 shocks you have are different than the 357's being offered today. Maybe the old ones were made in Sweden and the new ones????
Skypilot I was not referring to you , I've had several emails from members who bought shocks from Fuel Moto and were not happy and couldn't get any service from them asking for my help which I gladly gave , but yet they wouldn't post their experience buying from them because they stated to many people would turn on them , again this is a double standard
BS. There is no double standard. Your opinion of FM simply doesn't match with the majority of peoples experience. Both vendors seemed to have worked hard to earn their reputations. Some vendors even compensate for reviews, not sure how it works because I haven't used them; but I've heard about it on other forums. If you have an axe to grind with Fuel Moto fine, I seem to remember a pissing match from a couple of years back. If a company can figure out a 117" big bore kit, I'm not too concerned with their ability to drop ship foreign made shock absorbers that are reported to be the best available. If they can only be expected to work if purchased from one vendor, either the shocks or the factory support suck. A deal killer in either case.
I also ordered a set of Traxxion fork cartridges, CCE trees and tubes. CCE has to send the tubes to Traxxion for further machining to fit the cartridges, then I get a present shipped to me from Traxxion.
This should be a great handling, smooth riding OLD bike that's 100% paid for.
Edit: Traxxion machines the lower portion of the fork tubes to eliminate the damper rod stop in order to fit the cartridge. CCE or anyone with a lathe can do this making the marriage of CCE ro Traxxion easier. Had I remembered this I would have done it myself or had CCE supply the tubes without the damper rod stop and have them shipped direct.

Very interested to hear how these work out, and the shock as well. I've heard lots of good things about Traxxion in the Yammi sport bike world. It looks like they carry JRI, Bitubo and Ohlins shocks for Harley. Always wondered why we don't hear more about their cartridges, probably mostly the price. Keep us updated.

Exactly, hit the nail on the head!
No skin in the game, but "that guy" can be downright rude to other Forum members (prospective customers!!!), at times...
