Default Another Progressive shock question

Greetings all,

I have read with interest about progressive shocks. Not sure on 412 or 440 just yet because website is not as helpfull as I need. Looks like 440 is adjustable to various loads. Are 412's the same way? Are 412's gas charged like 440's? We ride an '05 Ultra and 2-up we go about 450#. Any help is appreciated.

Be sure to check out Works shocks: http://www.worksperformance.com/
I put a set of Steel Trackers w/ ARS (adjustable rate susoension) on my SG. They are a bit more expensive (about $520)than Progressive, but WELL worth it IMHO. When you order they get the wieght of you and/or your passenger and put on the correct springs for your situation. My bike rides like a cadillac and NEVER bottoms out.

Ok I can answer this one. We go 2up with about the same weights loaded up on our EG and have tried both the 412s and 440s. I started out with the 412s but found they bottomed out too much. They are adjustable with a supplied tool but could never dial them in. Ran them for about 5000miles. Last week switched to the 440HD and the Wife is very happy. The 440 HDs are much improved over the 412s in 2up. The bumps are really smoothed out. We rode about 150 miles yesterday including in Mexico and it was nice. Go with 440 HDs for 2 up.

I will second that. I also use the 440HD and find them to be great!
