Default Progressive 944-4020 UT

I've not seen this question come up. I have the new Progressive 944-4020 UT on my 2012 FLHTC.

I'm wondering how much weight you are one and two up? How many bars on your shocks for each setting?

I understand the sag adjustment, but I'm looking for real world settings based on weight and shitty roads.

Thanks for the help.

I was 315LBS combined 2up with that same set up. And they sucked, even with the lowest setting. I had Progressive change out the HD spring for the standard spring which I ran at two rings. Still sucked.

How much weight for the combined 2up are you running?

What is the problem you are having with your 944 shocks?

I don't have a problem. I assume your asking sanman4ever.
I am looking for the settings others have found to be good based on weight not so much on sag.

Out for a ride today with my wife on board. I have the HD springs and have left them at the lowest preload they will go to when it's just me (200 lbs). I sure don't feel any sag when I sit down, but then I haven't had anyone to help me measure it yet. I can tell you the rear is stiff but handle bumps much better then the stock air shocks did no matter how much air I used in them.

Today I turned them up to the first groove mark. I haven't told my wife anything about them yet. I want to get her input without her knowing anything. And I can report I didn't hear nearly as many ouch! as I did when the old air shocks. Two up we are about 200 lbs. I'll try the second groove mark next time and see how that feels.

Side note, most of the time travel pretty light, not much weight in the bags at all really.

Please share your weights and settings with me. Thanks

I have the standard springs. Solo ( I am 200 lbs ) I run about 1 1/2 bars preload, two up I add another 1 1/2 turns for an additional 140lbs.

I just purchased a set of Progressive 944's with standard springs. I weigh 180# and ride solo without the tour pack on my 09 Ultra 90% of the time. Does Progressive have a softer spring than standard? I still find them stiff and I never bottom them out on softest setting.

That's it.....perhaps give them 1,200 miles to break in. You might have better luck. But your experience was the same as mine. I moved on before really putting any miles on them.
