2000 Road King Classic
I'm currently looking into a nice, used 2000 RK Classic for sale here that has about 35,000 miles on it. I have already read about the potential or probable problems with the cam chain tensioners on these twin cam 88ci motors and would plan on swapping those out or at least checking them right away. Anything else I should be aware of or look for on the plus or minus side? Any info is much appreciated.

I've had a 2000 Road King Classic since new. Currently at 66,000 miles. I put in gear drive cams and a six speed transmission at about 5k miles and it ran basically trouble free for the next 55,000 miles. Then started having issues with fuel injection system; hot idle, cold idle, hard starts and surging. After multiple attempts to resolve, finally replaced the Magnetti Morelli ECM with a S & S VFI. After getting the VFI dialed in, it now runs better than ever.
