Default Screaming Eagle air filter

I have the SE Ventilator air filter with the original stock white filter. I only run the oil level 1/2 way up the stick but after 12,000 km's the bottom is oil soaked and the front pretty dirty. Nothing dripping on the cam cover. Is this filter washable? Or knowing the MoCo they want you to buy the 'exclusive to them' K&N replacement.......Thanks

I believe the original air filters are supposed to be washable. Your just not supposed to oil them like k&n filters.

They are washable but i would just spend the 45.00 and get the k&n.

K&n, one purchase no need to worry. Air flow is equal or better with k&n😀

The K&N is $88.95 in Canada....$59.95 in the US. 48% more. We get hosed up here. Way more than the exchange rate. The OEM replacement up here is $60.95 CDN. I'll pay the extra $28 for the K&N. Thanks though.

Do you have to pay Duty or import fee if someone in the states sent it to you as a gift?

Just wash it with K&N cleaner, air dry and reuse. Do not oil it. I clean mine about every 2,000 miles. No biggie.

K&N is a good performance air filter. I run one on my Vette. I'm still using the SE HD filter on the bike for now (SE air breather). But they aren't really that great of a filter if you run in dusty conditions. So just a note for what it is worth, don't put one on your ATV or any other off-road vehicle. They aren't real good at keeping the dirt out.

The SE Filter is stamped "Do Not Oil".
Think about it.
Why would the MoCo want that kind of filter there, where it will collect oil?
Yes, it is washable, per the manual, lay out to dry. Notice after washing, look at it closely with a light at how the white gauze inside shifts and thins out in places. Poor filter media.
I went ahead with the A/N Big Sucker that came with their "Million Mile Filter" that looks K/N to me. Killed two birds with one stone. And, the oiled filter seems to catch more dust and pollen than the SE ever did. Fits under the stock air cleaner, if you choose.
Eastern Performance gave me the best deal, BTW.
