Default 2006 Ultra Classic Security System Problem

5 days ago I bought a 2006 Ultra Classic that has about 60,000 Km's on it. The bike is in pretty good shape however is in need of a good detailing and some TLC.

I was provided with 2 keys and fob for the security system. Foolishly, I didn't enquire as to the operation of the security system and last night I pushed the button on the fob to, as I thought, Arm the system. The flashers flashed twice and a red key symbol flashed slowly in the speedo.

Today I again pushed the button on the fob expecting the system to disarm. The flashers flashed twice again however the red key symbol continues to flash and the system will not disarm.

I'm hoping there is a way to disarm the system without having to trailer the bike to my nearest Harley dealer, as they are over 2 hours away.

Any help would be great.

Cheers

Dave

You have to push the fob button twice quickly to disarm. Once to arm, twice to disarm.

I tried that first. "Put a new battery in the fob" was the response. Didn't fix it.

Thanks for all of the responses (with the exception of one halfwhit. I guess all forums have a few idiots).

Got her fixed with a combination of ignition on, ignition off, push button twice, stand on one leg etc.

Cheers
