I ride in shorts often, and the boys love the air cooling on a hot day. I've been doing so for decades. Ride in a tank top, hiking sneakers with low socks, and cargo shorts. I personally find it very comfortable.
As mentioned above, jeans offer no real protection; I figure milliseconds before you are into skin.
Many of you will think me a moron for doing so, but different strokes and all that.
what state do the motormen ride sport bikes...lolhere in south fla they are on electraglides and road kings....in the orlando area some municipalities have gone to the victory bikes...
That is Oklahoma State Police.. They seized a couple Hayabusa's in a raid and used them for patrol and PR work..
They retired them about 18 months ago when the captain of the motor division went back to a cage..
They like other states are dropping HD in favor of BMW's.. BMW is coming on strong with support and pricing that is putting hurts on HD fleets
That picture was in Arkansas at the springs.. we were doing a 4 state MeetNGreet with captains from all the motor divisions.. (Rider awareness and how to get the message across to new riders that you need to stay smart or die.. Young guys in their 20's are really at risk)

I rode my shovel in shorts on a 93 degree day an there was an accident blocking both lanes of the highway. the was burning off my right leg. I rode around the mess in the grass to get some air moving. I still occasionally ride in shorts for a quick run.
I rode in shorts the other day it was 96 degrees or more outside. 75 mph freeway ride 25 miles home. I think i will not do that again as i felt all kinds of stuff hitting my legs on the freeway- bugs, grit, and i was thinking road rash ....
It's great to have a choice and true, Jeans in a crash are not super-duper protective but I wear them anyway, because.... the one big thing jeans have over shorts is when you crash, jeans typically don't end up around your ankles like shorts do. It's usually something like that or you get the worlds most painful wedgie.
Picture yourself knocked out laying on the side of the road with your scraped up strawberry'd *** (or pickle) hanging out for everyone to see. Yeah, that's a good time.
As long as your next thread doesn't start out with "Extra heat felt from motor" or something along those lines....lol
Personal choice, I won't ride in shorts to the corner store. A little sweat never hurt anyone, but I was always taught dress for the crash, not the ride. I get it the OP had no choice...
Congrats on the scoot, trailers can get fixed, you can't. Glad all involved are safe!

On or off the bike I never wear shorts. Only at the gym or "exercise" walking.
In warm/hot weather I always wear shoes or boots and gloves while riding aside from my normal clothes/riding gear. Off the bike even in hot/humid weather I always have pants on and shoes. I have never worn sandals!
