Put on true duals. You'll lose a little bottom end, but that's just a real handy reason to cam the thing up a little. There are ways to get those ponies back in the corral.

there is a company called fulsac that makes a pipe to fix it and turns the existing pipes into true duals... worked great for my 07.. think it was around $100

This design, as mentioned previously, is known for cracking. In addition, the merge collector (where the pipes for both cylinders merge) is a poor design which leads to poor scavenging at lower rpms and is an obstruction to flow and horsepower at higher rpms. A good 2 into 1 header will perform best but some people like the look of having 2 mufflers. Depending on your choice, it could be significantly louder as well. You give up a little low end torque by going true dual but you retain the look you're accustomed to. Either way, you're better off from a performance standpoint compared to the stock headpipe.

Very common problem.

Due to the cost of replacing the broken part, lots of us have just gone to true duals to eliminate the hassle of dealing with this again. Only cost a little more for the duals than replacing the cracked piece.

Dod not notice a reduction in low end torque, but did notice the bike sounded much better with the true duals.

Just went through this 2 weeks ago. Had bike in to an Indy and he discovered the pipe was cracked. Upon his recommendation I went with the Rinehart 4" true duals, and boy does my bike sound good!!!! Didn't really notice any loss in low end torque.
