Will be leaving in a week to see the real deal and that's the only way we roll not before or after otherwise there are plenty places to ride anytime of the year. Keep the tradition alive lots of people counting on your annual visit.

Did that run in '13, rode all the way from Oklahoma City. We went about 3 weeks before the big "do". Just can't tolerate crowds no matter how many bare chested women there might be. Sturgis is a nice enough town with lots of motorcycle themed bars and souvenir stores. Your pictures are a wonderful refresher. We must have done just about the same run, including the Devil's Tower. Did you get coffee at Wall Drug Store?

Far fewer would ride to Sturgis in the off season, and even fewer would post pictures of their trip there is it was not famous due to the rally.
People tend to post in a smug way, that they went and avoided all the crowds. Kinda like they are special.
Sturgis, and surrounding roads are open year round. No need to justify your choice of when to go...just go.

Great Pictures, thanks for sharing. My wife and I leave Wednesday afternoon for Rapid City. We have a rental for 6 days starting Thursday evening. Hope to hit as many of the great riding spots as we can fit in. Our first trip out west and vey much looking forward to it.

Yup...kinda like going to a concert and leaving before the band shows up!
We have gone the last 5 years and booked our rooms before we left last year. Really enjoy watching the freaks, great shows to be had.
Only thing different is that we will probably ride a few less roads this year. Don't enjoy the bumper to bumper traffic.

Great pics though! Made this trip last year from SC. 800 miles was a days ride and I had several of those over the two weeks I was on the road.
Glad you were able to get out there and enjoy the sights though. It's an awesome place!
