BINGO! yeah, its gonna be crowded... Sturgis is Sturgis because of the rally, not the surrounding scenery. The riding is the bonus of going there of course but the "MOTORCYCLE RALLY" is why we all know what "Sturgis" is. It is THE RALLY.
Did that run in '13, rode all the way from Oklahoma City. We went about 3 weeks before the big "do". Just can't tolerate crowds no matter how many bare chested women there might be. Sturgis is a nice enough town with lots of motorcycle themed bars and souvenir stores. Your pictures are a wonderful refresher. We must have done just about the same run, including the Devil's Tower. Did you get coffee at Wall Drug Store?
Great Pictures, thanks for sharing. My wife and I leave Wednesday afternoon for Rapid City. We have a rental for 6 days starting Thursday evening. Hope to hit as many of the great riding spots as we can fit in. Our first trip out west and vey much looking forward to it.
