I installed a TCC true dual conversion today and took it out for a spin. First thing I noticed is that the bike seems a bit more quiet. Normal? I also noticed that, where I had some popping on decel before, I no longer hear it. I don't know, I thought the bike was supposed to get a little louder. Any thoughts on this one????
I had the opposite experience - my true dual setup with SE mufflers was too loud for my tastes. I returned to the stock crossover system with the same slip ons and found the sound more pleasing along with the addition of the low end torque the true duals gave away. I had originally heard the system using old stock SE mufflers at work and knew it was the sound I wanted. However, the system I heard had the stock crossover headers - I never would have guessed the difference in sound the crossover makes. Of course, sound is a very personal choice - everyone has his or her preference when it comes to mufflers.
I have all the noiseI could want with my sampson drag fishtails, but the Indy mech I use says that they are the worst things made for power. But man, I love the sound!
I'm with ted on this one.
First went with the Big Sucker for air flow.
Then re-jetted the carb for better performance and heat reduction.
Then I went with fullsac true duals.
Better sound , definitely louder , but lost a bunch of torque off the bottom.
Then added V&H Classic slip-ons to the duals.
Got some of the torque back , gained a bunch of power in the upper range , and the sound is awesome.
Still not really happy , so I put back on the stock cross over with the V&H mufflers.
Sound decreased slightly and sounds smoother , not as distinctive.
I'm a happy camper now , got all of my torque back and then some , about the same increase in the upper RPM's.
The duals sounded better than the stock cross over , but the performance came back with the stock cross over pipe.
I really liked the duals for the look , sound , and convenience , and felt cooler at stop lights , but the torque loss was something I could not live with.
JMHO

Well, I think I may have a solution but wanted some advice. I have Wild Pig slip-ons with 1 3/4" baffles. I am thinking about getting bigger baffles, but can't decide on the 2" or 2 1/4". Anybody have these size baffles? What do you think about them?
I have V&H true duals and Rush slipons w/2" baffles and love them, my sensible self says too loud but !!!! Loss of torque? Can't hardly notice since I'm not in a timed Drag Race!!
