It is fine and if you are going to spend much time here get thick skin. Plenty of people that like to bust chops and keyboard commandos. Just enjoy your bike and the miles you put on it.

They may be designed that way but they don't always sit that way. The last two touring bikes that i had/have all sit with the stands back at 85 degees or less.

I agree the bike is not going anywhere but i would like to see ot tighter and more in that 93 degree range.

............if yer able, put the bike on something akin to a J&S and examine how the jiffy stand works when engaged - IF the jiffy is tightly mounted then examining its operation should give you confidence in it not failing.

I have had mine roll an inch or two after leaning on the stand in some spots. Always makes me flinch, never falls over.

It is said the jiffy was originally designed by CHIPS, so their Officers could tread the stand down and walk away (or run!) in a jiffy, without a second thought. They have been unchanged in the 40-odd years I've been riding Harleys, so yeah, I'm goin' to rib ya! Stop writin' and ride. Hold on, the sun has just come out at last.....

If you're worried about your bike rolling, leave it in first. That will add a little piece of mind.

My Jiffy Stand works great.
They are not required, however.
Feel free to just stand there and hold it, if that is your preference.

Default Hate the kick stand

Once the stand is properly deployed, as long as there is weight on it, it will do the job... Best designed stand on the market...
