Ordered a custom handlebar from BR custom. I waited 9 weeks until I followed up. It was Friday when I called, I was told to call back on Monday on the following week. And so I called back but was told to call again on Friday that week. Ok, I got a feeling my bar has no where near from finishing. When I called that Friday spoke with Bill this time and sure enough, I was right. Bill gave me the traditional run around story and just repeated what I had ordered. This gave me a hard evidence that he has not even started making my bar.
The handlebar I ordered was just plain conventional type bar. Its not one of those fancy bars posted in his website. In his website says that it takes about 6 to 9 weeks for making a custom made bar. He should change it to 6 to 9 months instead.
I called KST Custom and ordered from them instead. It is half the prize of what BR is charging. The good part is they don't charge you until they're ready to send your order.
Kst has good **** man. Alot of us run mayhems in various Heights.. Not alot of BR bars around, but the 2 guys I know of like them..I wouldn't be able to pay that much or wait that long
KST is definitely at the top of my list. Had them on my last 2 bikes and as far as I'm concerned that's all I'll ever run. Lifetime warranty against defects and finish is a plus as well.
I got my bars from BR. It did take longer than they originally said, but in the end, they were just what I ordered and the chrome was flawless. But I'm not gonna lie, the cost was hard to swallow. I just looked at the KST site, they don't seem to make the bars I would want. Do they do custom one offs?

I'd wait till Sturgis is over and give Brett a call. Not sure if he'd do a custom job for you or not but it won't hurt to ask. Good folks to do business with.
I ordered a set of BR's 16" Sweeping K9's powder coated satin black. I can't say enough good about these bars. It did take a while to get them...but I was deployed when I ordered them so I wasn't in a hurry. They are also pretty spendy...but I wanted what I wanted! And any time you go up in diameter to 1.5" you step up in price quite a bit.
Anyway...sorry about your experience, but I have nothing but good things to say about Bill and his bars.
I got a set of sweeping beaters from BR's a couple weeks ago, I waited almost 10 weeks til they showed up at my door, and that was just in raw metal(I painted my bars). Bill was up front with me and told me I was looking at 8 weeks minimum. He makes them to order, so if he hasn't finished his orders that came in before yours hes not going to stop what hes doing to hurry up and pump a set out. If he's busy, he's busy. Anyway, hope you're happy with the other bars you ordered.

KST does fantastic custom work! I ordered a 'one of' bar, custom made to my spec's for my 2010 SG. It was right around $200 delivered. I was at the HeliBars booth at Sturgis and couldn't get their $900 bars to sit where I wanted. Walked over to the KST booth 10 feet away, met Brett and explained what I needed. Brett took a bunch of measurements and a week and a half later I received EXACTLY what I ordered, bars that were bent and angled just as I needed them. As far as I'm concerned KST is the only bar manufacturer to buy from. Fantastic quality, workmanship and finish, excellent pricing, speedy work (custom made for me a week after Sturgis,) and great communication. On a scale out of a hundred, I would rate KST a hundred and fifty.
